Chapter 37

Nicolas shook his head weakly. "Celine won't care, Mom. Even if she knew, I would still have nothing to offer her. She has chosen her path, and I must accept that."  

Nicolas was completely resigned to his fate. His hopes of returning to Celine were dwindling.

Meanwhile, elsewhere

Preparations for Celine and Gabriel's wedding were almost complete. The servants were busy putting up the decorations, and the Valerio family seemed satisfied with all the luxuries displayed.  

However, in her room, Celine sat pensively looking in the mirror. Her wedding dress hung on the side of the room, looking so beautiful. But her heart felt heavy. Celine was indeed trying on the wedding dress for the event later, about 3 days away. 

Suddenly, Maria appeared at the door. Celine turned her head, a little surprised to see the woman coming unannounced.  

"What are you doing here?" asked Celine in a cold tone. &nbs
