Chapter 83
Celine stepped past him.
Nico immediately grabbed her wrist, trying to hold back. "Celine, listen to me for a moment."
Celine looked down at Nico's hand grasping her wrist.
"I have to go," she said firmly. "Don't hold me."
Nico was forced to release his grip. Celine walked out of the room, her steps quick and steady.
Nico stared at her departure feeling devastated.
He knew that Celine would not forgive him that easily.
A few moments later, at the dining table, Calvin was busy scooping his cereal while occasionally swinging his legs under the chair. Celine sat opposite him, sipping coffee with a flat face. There was no smile, no warmth as usual.
Nico appeared from the direction of the stairs, wearing a white T-shirt and jeans. He gave a small smile. "Morning," he greeted, then immediately pulled out a chair and joined him at the dining table.
