Celine crossed her arms over her chest. "You want to embarrass me in front of the employees? How do you think they feel seeing a big company CEO like me getting a visit like this from her husband? This is no place for domestic games, Nico."  

Those words slapped Nico's pride. He had always known Celine to be an independent and ambitious woman. However, this was the first time he felt so belittled. "So you think I'm humiliating you?" his voice was quieter, but full of disappointment.  

Celine didn't answer, just gave him a sharp look.  

Nico nodded slowly. "Alright. I understand," he said in a colder voice. He reached for the bag of food he had placed on the table, then stepped back. "I won't bother you again at work."  

Celine gritted her teeth, her heart raging, but her ego was too big to take back her words.
