Chapter 37
The class became a dull ground when I entered. Everyone stopped whatever they were doing and was just looking at me. It was as if there was something written on my face, maybe I had something stuck on my tooth as I walked past their judgemental eyes to my chair.
“What is happening?” Lulu, who was sitting beside me, turned and asked me.
“I don’t know, is there something on my face?” I asked her for a mirror, trying to check my face; but the teacher entered and everyone’s gaze seemed to normalize.
“Good morning, class.” Professor Agnes came into the classroom with a gleeful persona. She has always been the type who was happy, the extreme happiness of having everything at her beck and call.
“Take out your textbooks and let’s learn.” She approached the chalkboard while talking.
I placed my textbook on the table, turned, and then looked at the countenance of my friend. Lulu seemed to be struggling to open her book.
