Chapter 42

Lulu invited me to her friend's birthday party in school. I had just finished training with Mr. Richard and almost didn't feel the need to attend the party. But nevertheless, I got dressed up and left for the party. Lulu and her other friends were having the time of their lives, but everything changed when I arrived. Everyone stopped, and they ogled at me like I had just done something horrible.

"Hey! Did something bad happen?" Lulu and I walked to the bar.

She was a little bit dumbfounded by my question. "Nothing happened! Why are you asking?" She ordered two bottles of beer. The bartender was Elijah, to my surprise. He warmly smiled at us before giving us our order.

"Hmm! Have you seen Abe?" I asked.

"Yeah! I saw him with Livi," she replied.

I turned and anxiously looked everywhere for them. I even had to walk around, search the entire rooms for a glimpse of Abe anywhere. Unfortunately, he wasn't anywhere at the party. Maybe Lulu must've imagined her
