Chapter 13
“You’re infuriating!” Brooklyn scowled.
“No, I’m just making it difficult for you. You can still get what you want,” Harry said, and Brooklyn took a deep breath.
She quickly reached over Harry to grab the newspaper sticking out of his pocket, but hands on her waist suddenly spun her over, and in a second, Harry was hovering above her, hands on either side of her head, his body close to hers but not touching.
“You didn’t think it was going to be that easy, did you?” Harry said, and Brooklyn gulped.
“You touched me,” she whispered.
“Briefly, yes,” Harry nodded.
“Get away from me,” Brooklyn demanded.
“Not just yet,” Harry murmured, and Brooklyn slowly reached up and slid the piece of paper out of his pocket, clutching it tightly.
“Talk to me about it.”
“There’s nothing to tell.”
“I can help.”<
