Ricardo was agitated, and nervous as the doctor told him the news he wasn't expecting. Blinking a few times, he felt his heart thumping painful. He thought he heard wrong, but no, the doctor said it.

“I'm sorry we can't save the baby…she's too weak to carry the pregnancy,” the doctor repeated, the words which caused Ricardo's knees to weaken. Shaking his head, he glanced over the closed door and then at the doctor.
