Chapter 26. Not a Child

Alana found out the man was Rocco. It's a weird name for a man like him. He had a devil-may-care outlook and a stellar smile. An earthy scent swirled around him. His dark silver eyes were a-dazzle with wonder over a friendly smile. He moved with a leopard-like grace. It was a little frightening, but she hated it. Especially the way he looked at her.

“Who are you? What do you want from me?” Alana asked. She wanted to know who he was. Why did he have her locked up? The man let out a lazy yawn and glanced at her with a nonchalant look.

“Your only crime is being married to him,” he muttered coldly and averted his eyes away. Alana was irritated, especially the way he didn't make things clear. He gave her food, and she refused. She tried to escape and he caught her. The most strange thing was that he didn't even tie her up like before.

His eyes were alert and fixed on the door as if he were waiting for someone.
