Chapter 59. Miss Me?
I never went home.
It just didn’t feel the same way without her presence. Therefore, I had Fergus bring a few of my stuff to the office where I stayed for the next two weeks. During the day, I worked twice as hard, while in the evenings, I drank my sorrows in alcohol. When it was nighttime, I stayed awake to my phone screen, looking at her number but never dialed it.
Good heavens, I missed her.
I missed her so much, it hurt. So, when she strolled into my office one Sunday evening, my face lit up like a child who had been given his favourite candy. She didn’t come empty handed, and I stared at the food flask she dropped on my desk.
“What’s in there?”, I asked her, putting away the paperwork I was looking at.
“Food,” she replied curtly.
I laughed softly. “You got me food.”
“Well, when Lyla told me that you wouldn’t touch the meals she came with, I had to come over.”
