She did dare, but it wasn’t her life she sought to end. It was Zeke’s.

He stood there, staring at the bullet lodged in his forearm. He doesn’t move, doesn’t speak, just stares, Lorraine looks unbothered, twirling her hair like she didn’t just shoot someone.

Zeke needs medical attention but he won’t admit it. After what feels like eternity, he speaks, his tone venomous.
