Chapter 75. Shooting Range

“You brought me to the shooting range,” I remarked, taking in the vast grasslands. The shooting range is a sparse area of land Adrian had gifted to me years ago after I had my first kill. It’s sort of therapeutic, the gunshots sounding off rhythmically, blowing off steam. Thing is, I haven’t been here in ages and I haven’t held a gun in years.

The fuck I’m doing this.

I storm towards the car and he lets me. My hand’s reaching for the handle when a bullet whizzes past my head. I jerked backwards surprised and turned, just to see Lorraine putting away her gun, grinning.

“What the…”

“I must be getting sloppy. I’ve never missed before,” she comments, tying her hair up in a bun, just the way she used to, years ago.

“You fucking tried to kill me!” I exclaim, approaching them. Zeke places his hands in his pockets as he smirks, his eyes never leaving Lorraine’s.

Perhaps the ring is for her. But why? He has two wives already. Why would he need another?
