I wasn’t fast enough.
“Gianna, looking for something?” Sydney asked.
“I was looking for my husband.”
“Your husband is the father of my child. He’s with his son.”
I nodded. My face hurt so much from the emotions I was going through. At any moment I was going to break down and I didn’t want it to be in front of Sydney.
“Do you always take what doesn’t belong to, you Gianna? I ask because I don’t know you very well.”
“Do you always steal, lie and abandon your family?” I spat. Thanks to my raging emotions my words were sharp.
“Me?!” She faked ignorance when she knew exactly what I was talking about.
“You left when things were horrible here. You didn’t care about Dad and Nora. You still don’t.”
“Don’t act righteous. You didn’t marry Brad because you wanted to save them. You did it because he’s a billionaire. Don’t get it twisted. I’ve seen this so many times. You’re set for life. You lucky girl.”
