I turned to the front and had to think about it. There were a few possibilities. The main question was how far away they should be. For a quick trip home, it would be ideal if they were closer to the castle.

But it was uncertain whether it was safe enough for that. Abbadon was a great opponent. Underestimating him would be a fatal mistake.

Hendrik tapped me on the shoulder again and said "I'll take care of Tiana and find a safe place for her. You concentrate on your wife."

"Thanks, Hendrik."

Stan cleared his throat, which caught my attention. "There's another forest road that would get us there even faster. It's just bumpier and goes downhill." I didn't even have to think about answering "Then we'll take that one."

I could see that he was holding back a grin. "With pleasure. I'll get everything out of Gundula." There was a sharp turn to the left. The road was narrower and, as warned, it went downhill.
