She looks sideways at Cathy and Abby. The two grin and hurry to Audrey. Audrey holds out a bag to Cathy.

"Thank you," she says and Carl looks into the bag and pulls out a coffee mug and a jacket with gold thread running through it.

Abby also receives a bag, which she looks into, "nice that you thought of that," she says and smiles.

Audrey nods and holds out a bag to Philipp, followed by Theo, Carl, and Georg. Then the suitcase is empty and the boys look into the cloth bags and grin.

"Thanks, Mom," says Philipp and she nods.

"Now that that's settled, next week your father will meet my family, so you'll meet the rest of the family on Sunday, so behave yourself."

The boys nod and with that, we leave the throne room for the first time and walk to my chambers. I unpack my suitcases and throw most of them in the laundry.
