Chapter 9

It couldn't be contained, so I bent over and vomited. Since I hadn't gotten anything down today, it was nothing but bile that came up. My whole throat burned from it.
Just as I was about to sit up, the next wave of nausea followed. I vomited again and was grateful that I had tied my hair up this morning. They wouldn't have survived unscathed.
After taking a deep breath, I stood up straight. I jumped as someone held out a tissue. My eyes snapped up and it was a woman. She should be my age. She looked cute with her blonde hair and gray eyes. But the first impression might be misleading, after all, she was unmistakably a vampire.
She lifted the handkerchief and said, "You could probably use that." Her voice also sounded friendly and concern was reflected in her facial expression.
This all had to be a sick joke.
