“You can’t leave me, Eve.” Darius muttered, his eyes widening in terror as she continued to bleed.

His hands wrapped around her waist were now drenched in blood, and he looked around to see if he could obtain help but everywhere had erupted into chaos. He couldn’t blame the people running helter-skelter for their lives because if he were in their shoes, he would do the same.

The event had been disrupted after the assassins fired the arrows directly at Eve and his parents.

Dragging his gaze away from Eve, who was battling to keep her eyes open, Darius looked at his parent.

From what he could see, they were already dead. They laid stiff, with their mouths open, and Darius’s heart crushed again at the sight.

“You can’t leave me now, Eve. Wait a minute, I’ll take you to the doctor, and you’ll be well.” Darius said again, attempting to sound assuring, although he knew time was ticking away and she was slipping awa
