“Mason,” Logan said, his voice calm but filled with curiosity. “Go on. I’m listening.”

I froze again, his intense stare pinning me to the spot. He was sitting forward now, elbows on his knees, his piercing gray eyes locked onto mine. It was clear he wasn’t going to let me off the hook this time.
