Mason’s POV
“Mason,” Logan said again, his voice colder this time.
I froze. “Yeah?”
There was a long pause. I could feel his eyes burning into the back of my head. My pulse pounded in my ears as I slowly turned to face him.
“You’re acting strange,” he said flatly.
I forced a laugh, though it came out shaky. “What? Me? Nah, I’m fine.”
Logan didn’t look convinced. He took a step closer, and I instinctively gripped the counter, my palms slick with sweat.
He narrowed his eyes. “Are you sure about that?”
“Positive,” I muttered, trying to keep my voice steady.
The silence stretched uncomfortably. I couldn’t look at him anymore, so I turned back to the stove, my mind spinning. He knows. He has to know. Why else would he be staring at me like this?
