Mason’s POV
My vision zoomed in on the space under the table where the small container which contained the substance that I had kicked earlier was still hidden.
I broke into a cold sweat.

I watched as Logan crouched, reaching his hand under the table. My breathing turned shallow, and I felt like my chest was being squeezed in a vise.
“Sir, I…I can get that for you!” I blurted out, my voice cracking in desperation.
Logan paused, his hand inches away from where the container was. He glanced up at me with narrowed eyes, clearly suspicious of my sudden outburst.
“What’s your problem, Mason?” Logan’s voice was calm, but I could hear the irritation in it.
“I just… uh… you shouldn’t have to bend down, sir. I’ll…”
