Logan’s POV
I stood a little distance away from the beach house, my eyes narrowing as I watched the events unfolding outside. Mason was still holding Layla close, his gun unwavering as he made his way toward my car.
The tension in the air was suffocating, each second stretching endlessly. I could see Layla’s frantic eyes darting around, and it was then that I noticed she had spotted something…or someone.
Following her gaze, my heart skipped a beat. One of my men was lying in wait under another car, his weapon poised and ready. I felt a feeling of hope that Layla would soon be free. I knew what was coming, and it was already too late to stop it.
“Mason,” I muttered under my breath, clenching my fists.
