Jason’s POV

“I know you’re scared,” she said, her voice quiet now. “But I’m not going to stop living my life because I’m pregnant. I can take care of myself.”

I stared at her for a long moment, feeling a weight in my chest that I couldn’t shake. 

“I just don’t want to see you get hurt,” I whispered, almost to myself.

She nodded, but I could see the stubbornness in her eyes. “I’ll be careful. I promise.”

But I knew, deep down, that no matter how many times I told her, no matter how many times I begged her to stop, she wouldn’t listen. She couldn’t. 

And I didn’t know how much longer I could keep watching her do this. Watching her act like nothing had changed, like she wasn’t carrying our baby.

Every day felt like a battle, and I wasn’t sure how much longer I could keep fighting.
