“She wouldn’t just leave,” I muttered, more to myself than to her. But even as I said it, my gut twisted. Layla had always been unpredictable when it came to her emotions, especially when it involved Logan.
Maddy grabbed my arm, her grip firm. “Jason, focus. We need to split up. I’ll check the side street. You check the main road.”
I hesitated, glancing down the busy street. Logan and that kid had disappeared into the crowd, but if Layla had followed them…
