Isabella’s POV

The sound of the gate opening snapped me out of my thoughts. I turned to the window just in time to see Logan’s car pulling into the driveway. 

My stomach twisted into a knot as I watched him park and step out, his expression grim and distant.

Panic surged through me again. If Dani had already spoken to Logan, I would know soon enough. But as Logan walked inside, he didn’t seem angry. He looked worried, distracted even.

I swallowed hard, trying to calm the frantic beating of my heart. If Logan knew the truth, he wouldn’t be acting like this. He wouldn’t have driven in so calmly, and he certainly wouldn’t have spared me even a glance.
