Logan’s POV
I had been rude to him, dismissive even. I’d told him to stay out of my family matters, to focus on his job and nothing else. At the time, it had seemed necessary, but now…now I regret every word.
“Damn it,” I muttered under my breath, running a hand through my hair. “Why did I have to talk to him like that?”
It had been weeks since I’d heard from him, and the silence was deafening. Dani wasn’t the type to disappear without a word, not unless something was seriously wrong.
And yet, here I was, sitting in my study, helpless and unable to do anything about it.
I let out a frustrated sigh, leaning back in my chair. “Where the hell are you, Dani?” I said to the empty room.
