Jason’s POV

Maddy laughed behind us, snapping a picture. “You two are so cute, it’s ridiculous.”

Layla buried her face in my chest, but I could feel her laughter vibrating against me. Her warmth, her scent, the weight of her in my arms…it all felt so natural, so right.

As we reached the elevator, I stepped inside, still holding her close. Layla’s arms wrapped loosely around my neck, and I caught her stealing glances at me, her blush deepening every time our eyes met.

“You’re blushing,” I teased.

She rolled her eyes, though her smile remained. “You’re embarrassing me.”

“You’re worth it,” I said simply, and the sincerity in my voice made her blush even more.

The elevator began its descent, and I glanced at Maddie, who was busy scrolling through her phone, giving us a rare moment of privacy.
