Chapter 544
Jason’s POV
I try to bring her back, even if it’s just in small pieces.
"Layla," I say softly, "I love you. I need you to remember that. Even if you don’t remember anything else, remember that I love you."
I sit there for what feels like hours, talking to her, trying to fill the silence with my words. I know it’s futile in some ways, but I can’t stop myself. I just need her to know that I’m here, that I’ll always be here.
I lean back in the chair, rubbing my eyes tiredly. I haven’t slept much since this all started, but I don’t care. I’ll keep doing this for her, for our son, until the day she remembers me. Until the day she remembers us.
I don’t know how long I sat there, lost in my thoughts, but eventually, I felt her hand shift in mine. I look down, surprised, and I see her fingers move slightly, as if she’s trying to hold on to me.
"Layla?" I whisper, my heart skipping a beat.
