Chapter 545
Jason’s POV
The nurse left, and I turned my attention back to Layla. I picked up the small cup of water on the tray and held it to her lips, helping her take a sip.
“There you go,” I said softly. “Just a little at a time.”
Afterward, I sat back in the chair, my thoughts drifting to little Jason. The nurses had been taking good care of him, but I couldn’t help but feel guilty for not spending more time with him.
He was just a baby, innocent and unaware of everything happening around him. He needed his mother, and she needed him.
Tomorrow, I decided, I’d spend more time with him. I’d make sure he knew he was loved, even if his mother couldn’t be there for him right now.
