I waited for some kind of reaction…surprise, confusion, maybe even disapproval.
But instead, he just stood there, silent.
The quiet stretched between us, and I felt the nervousness creeping back in.
"Jason?" I prompted.
He finally spoke, his voice even. "When?"
"In a few days," I said quickly. "I wasn’t sure at first, but Maddy convinced me, and honestly… I think it’ll be good for me."

But then he let out a breath and nodded. "Alright."
