Layla's POV

“Maddie!” I exclaimed, reaching up to grab it, but she danced away, grinning mischievously.

“Well, well, well… who do we have here?” She looked at the screen, her eyes widening as she read the name. “Mr. Handsome?” Her head snapped up, her mouth forming an ‘O’ as she gasped dramatically. “Is this the guy who keeps standing you up?”

I felt my cheeks burn as I crossed my arms, narrowing my eyes at her. “Give me my phone, Maddie.”

She took a step back, holding it even higher as she shook her head. 

“Oh, no. No way. Not until you explain why you saved his number as ‘Mr. Handsome.’” She raised an eyebrow, her lips curving into a teasing smile. “What did he do to earn that title, huh?”

I groaned, my face growing even hotter. “I didn’t… I mean… It's just… It’s nothing! Give it back!”
