And then I remembered the voice on the phone. I was sitting right next to her, close enough to hear his voice coming through the speaker. It was familiar. Too familiar.

My mouth went dry as realization slammed into me like a freight train. Layla’s Mr. Handsome… the guy she met on the plane… the guy she was so smitten with… could it really be… Logan?

No. That was insane. There was no way. Logan was married. Logan had a son. Logan would never…

But then again, when was the last time I saw Logan with Isabella? When was the last time he acted like a loving husband? He was always busy, always distracted, always somewhere else…

Oh, God. I felt sick, my stomach churning as the pieces started falling into place. Layla had no idea. 

She was falling for him, and she didn’t even know who he really was. And Logan… if it was really him… what was he doing? Why was he pursuing her?

I tried to steady my breathing, forcing m
