Maddie's POV

I had to admit, Logan was smooth. But she needed to keep her guard up. Just a little longer.

I tapped her arm, signaling for her to wrap it up. She nodded, her voice softening. “I’ll think about it.”

Logan let out a sigh, relief evident in his tone. 

“That’s all I can ask for. Thank you, Layla. I… I miss you.”

Layla’s cheeks flushed, her eyes glistening. I could see her resolve wavering, her emotions bubbling up to the surface. 

I nudged her, my eyes narrowing in warning. She quickly cleared her throat, her voice turning distant again. “I have to go now. Goodbye, Logan.”
