Isabella's POV

“I want her to understand the truth. To see that she’s falling for a man who already belongs to someone else. I want her to stay away from my husband.”

Maddie’s eyes narrowed, a spark of anger flashing across her face. 

“Your husband? The one you clearly can’t control? The one who runs off to another woman every chance he gets?”

I flinched, the words cutting deep. But I couldn’t back down now. 

“Yes, my husband. The one who made vows to me. The one who is supposed to be mine.”

She shook her head, letting out a bitter laugh. 

“You really are pathetic, Isabella. Chasing after a man who doesn’t want you. Blaming Layla for his actions instead of holding him accountable. Have you ever thought that maybe he’s the problem? That maybe he’s just not worth fighting for?”

My heart clenched, my chest tightening as her words hit me like a slap. 

“I love him,” I whispered, my voice cracking.
