Layla's POV

I was excited when Maddie told me she had somewhere special to take me. 

She made it sound like a place I would love, and honestly, I needed the distraction. 

My mind had been all over the place lately, and a night out seemed like the perfect way to relax.

As we rode in the cab, I stared out the window, my thoughts drifting. I had been thinking about Logan too much. More than I should. 

There was something about him, something familiar yet distant, and I couldn’t shake the feeling that I knew him from somewhere beyond just meeting him on the plane.

When the cab finally pulled up in front of the restaurant, my eyes widened slightly.

“I know this place,” I said, turning to Maddie.

She simply smiled, looking at me with a hint of mischief in her eyes.

“How do you know it?” she asked.

I ran my fingers along the edge of my bag, my heart skipping slightly.

“Logan brought me here,”
