Isabella’s POV

My blood ran cold as the door creaked open.

Dani.

He stepped inside, his sharp gaze landing on me instantly.

I barely had time to react before his eyes dropped to my hand…to the bag of hair I was holding.

His face darkened, his jaw tightening.

And in that moment, I knew…

I was caught.

My entire body went rigid.

The sound in the hallway was faint, barely more than a whisper against the silence of the night, but to me, it was deafening. Someone was out there.

Panic gripped me as my fingers instantly released the small plastic bag. It landed back in place, exactly where I had found it. 

My heart hammered against my ribs as I took a slow, shaky step away from Dani’s desk.
