Suddenly, everywhere around me was dark, as if I was transported to a void. I looked around me for the faintest indication of light, but I found none. It felt like I was standing on a smooth surface, but to be sure, I used my feet to feel the floor below me. I listened for any sound, but the air was heavy with an eerie silence. The only thing I could hear was my own breathing and pounding heart.

Did I not do it right? I asked myself as I continued to look around the nothingness. There was no way I was going to be sure, the book was definitely at Kaltain and I had no recollection of the spell. The distressing feeling of regret was unavoidable. The weight of the silence was getting to me, and my thoughts were becoming louder and louder, almost as if they were not in my head but coming from around me.
