Liam’s POV
"Alpha, you sent for me, is everything okay?" Tobias asked, his tone respectful but wary, sensing the tension in the air.
"I witnessed something earlier today that deeply displeased me," I began, his gaze piercing into Tobias's soul.
Tobias's brow furrowed in confusion. "I'm not sure I understand, Alpha. Please, what is it?"
"Don't play dumb with me, Tobias," I snapped, my patience wearing thin. "I saw you in Maxine's room, comforting her while she cried. Care to explain yourself?"
Tobias's eyes widened in realization as he understood what I was talking about. "Alpha, I can assure you, I had no intention of causing any harm. Maxine was upset, and I was merely offering her some comfort. There is nothing more. She's like a younger sister to me and I wouldn't disrespect you like that or her trust in me."
