Kaito’s eyes flung open, he wondered if all that he saw was a dream or actually reality. Did he really see that? Jakob’s voice rang in his head affirming that they both did and both of them were confused equally.

The muffled sob coming from Akiko was what woke him up. He turned his attention to her from his spiraling thoughts after just waking up, he could see tears in her eyes, and he could tell that she was trying to hold back a burst of emotion.
