I was very lucky that my parents were still so consumed by the mourning of my brother that they didn't worry about seeing me dragging a drunk man into the house.

They were sitting in the living room, still in that position I used to see them, waiting for my brother to come back.

They heard the door opening and my difficulty in dragging Edward with me, noticed our wet clothes and the flash of lightning that pierced above us at the same time, but did not make any comment before changing their attention to the crackling fireplace.
