"It's not, no. You're nothing like that. And we both know that. I don't want you to belittle yourself, Eddie. We know that you are much more than just a person made to die."
"I'm leaving, I shouldn't have come," he said, trying to push me away from his lap. I held his hands, Edward sighed heavily. "L, I don't want to destroy your life. I don't want you to have bad memories about me. I need you to forget me. And I need to forget you too."
"And how do you expect to do this if you're always coming to me?" I asked.
"I will never come to this house again. Don't worry."
Edward kept struggling to get out from under me, but even though I wasn't trying to get in his way, alcohol was doing its job of keeping him shaky and unstable. His gaze met mine when my fingers spread on his cheeks.
