Chapter 27. It’s Over
“It’s a unicorn!” One of the guards exclaimed, wonder coating his voice.
“But there has not been a unicorn in this forest in the past one thousand years.” The second guard said, as if speaking to himself.
From its long black glistening horn to its strong healthy-looking body, the unicorn was a sight to behold. It was blinding white and stood in contrast with the greenery around it. Its flank rippled with energy as it swished its long bushy tail from left to right. It let loose a long whine and pranced from one hoof to the other. It seemed to Germaine like it was dancing, entertaining them to the sound of music only it could hear.
The elderly dryad took two steps towards the creature, the Ork still pressed close to his chest. “Every thousand years, a unicorn appears on its own in the forest. It comes with good luck and good tidings.”
