Chapter 62. A Storehouse of Power
The mage led Germaine deep into the forest, to a section that was completely secluded from prying eyes. It was a place one would not willingly go except you stumbled upon it. Here, silence reigned, but to Germaine, it wasn't an eerie silence but a peaceful one. The air was still and there was no malevolent presence hovering around waiting to pounce at the slightest opportunity.
It was just... peaceful.
She sighed happily and closely watched the mage as he sat on the bare moist earth and folded his legs underneath him close to his body. She tried to copy his pose, but her limbs did not seem to want to fold in. She didn't understand why because she was flexible and had sat in this same posture before back on earth. She had even watched a two-hour film in the same posture without feeling any cramps. Now, she could not even fold one leg on top of the other.
