"Hi, Sam." After giving me a friendly smile, he looked away from me and into the shadowy forest below. He insisted on calling me 'Ira' even after I corrected him. Why? I can't even begin to guess... Calling people by their nicknames was his thing.
"Greetings, Tramp. Why did you come all the way out here? When I asked that, I was gazing in the same direction as he was. I was able to detect traces of alcohol on his body in waves. There was no doubt that he had been drinking heavily.
