Chapter 67
Jacob's two brothers had almost killed each other because of me. They were both vying for my attention and affections, and things had gotten out of hand. It was a tragic incident that could have ended so much worse, and I was grateful that they had both survived.
But today was different. Today was a day of joy and laughter, a day to forget the troubles of the world and simply enjoy each other's company. Jacob and I had brought a picnic basket, and we sat on a blanket, enjoying the warmth of the sun and the sound of the waves.
We played in the water, splashing each other and laughing. Jacob even attempted to teach me how to surf, though I was not very good at it. We built sandcastles and took long walks
