Chapter 25

I never did have patience. I get that from Mum. I think it's a redhead thing.

Finally, the home page loads, which is just the usual search engine. I type 'cinema nearest to Oakton’ and I’m about to hit search when my eyes land on the favorite bar.

Like his desktop, there are a bunch of sites saved into the bar that runs underneath the URL box, and none seem to be particularly interesting. Random, seemingly innocuous web pages with dull titles. I cast my eye over them briefly; The Battle of the Somme Explained, WW1, Ernest Hemingway, Battleships,

Missing Teen.

My attention snaps to the last one again. It's nestled in the middle, hidden between Battleships and Beginners French. I read it again and noticed that I've added the 'een' on myself because it just reads 'Missing T-', which means nothing. And still.

It's easy to miss. But I see it, and I'm drawn to it. Something tells me it's related to those names on the stone, somehow, and my breath catches.
