"I hope you know what it feels like.. to watch your family die right before your eyes. My mother.. took her own life. She even wanted to kill me too,” he laughed, but there was nothing funny about that at all. Anastasia could only hear a child crying for help. A lonely child who grew up living for vengeance.

“Sometimes, I wish she did,” he continued. “Perhaps it would’ve changed everything. My whole life was ruined, and it was all because of Draco’s father. At least, I see now why I was left to live after that.” Then he gazed at her, his eyes full of madness and anger. “To fulfill my revenge.”

He gritted his teeth and it only signified how long he had waited to see her now. Anastasia felt like he was accusing her. As if she was the reason he was miserable and killing her would end all of it. In some ways, perhaps that would’ve made him satisfied. But killing would not end with killing. And justice wasn’t meant to be like this.
