Chapter 44

Anastasia couldn’t hide the shock that covered her whole face. He leaned down his head until he was closer to her, his scent quickly clouding her sense of smell. He reeked of trees and dirt. It was obvious he really put so much effort to get past across the borders. Groaning, she tried to move against his hold but held it tight right where it was above her head.

His eyes looked down and found her parted lips. All the while, Anastasia continued to glare at him. His other hand reached out to touch her face, his finger touching her lower lip. “You smell so sweet, Luna,” he breathed out. “Will you let me taste you?”

“Don’t you dare,” she hissed, every second getting intense. She desperately wanted to punch him. His smirk was adding fuel to her anger.

“You’re so feisty,” he chuckled, his voice husky. “We’ll have so much fun.”

“No, we won’t,” she growled, trying to move her arm and struggling from his hold.
