We stood there for a moment, just enjoying each other’s presence, before I finally pulled away.

“We should probably head back,” I said, glancing around. “I don’t want to risk Elise coming back this way.” I told Kanen in a sweet voice, remembering him, Elise may come looking for me.

Kanen nodded in agreement, but there was a hint of reluctance in his eyes. “You’re right. We need to be careful.” he said, patting me on my back.
