Rose’s POV

I felt a warmth in my chest at Joe’s words. It wasn’t often that I received such genuine praise, and it meant more to me than I could express. “Thank you, Joe. That means a lot coming from you.” I said feeling encouraged.

Joe smiled again, that same kind smile that made me feel like I could trust him. “You’ve got a good heart, Rose. I can see that. And you’ve got a good head on your shoulders too. The world needs more people like you—people who are willing to stand up and do what’s right, even when it’s hard.”

I blushed slightly at the compliment. “I don’t know about all that. I just did what I thought was necessary.”

“Well, sometimes doing what’s necessary is exactly what the world needs,” Joe replied. “And you did it. You stopped a war, Rose. That’s something most people could only dream of doing.” I felt more encouraged with his words of motivation.
