Chapter 82

King Derek's POV

I woke up to the gentle breeze that blew into the room through the window. I exhaled heavily as I yawned, stretching out my arms. I blinked my eyes intermittently as I tried to sit up on the bed. I sat there momentarily, trying to muster up the strength to get up from bed. I stood from the bed gently. I stood there momentarily before a thought struck my mind.

My mind wandered off to Eli. I smiled as her name popped up in my head. I made up my mind to go and check on her. I walked out of the room slowly, holding my hands behind me. In no time, I was standing in front of her room. I walked into her room, but she was not there on her bed. I looked around the room, but I could not find her but saw her baby in his crib. 

Where had she gone to in this early hour of the morning, leaving her baby behind? Maybe she is in the bathroom, I thought. I walked quietly to the crib where the baby was lying. He seemed to have just woken up from sleep. I picked him up
