My heart jumped out of my chest for a second after I heard what Ethan and the witch were talking about. My eyes went wide in shock and my jaw dropped making the “o” shape, but I covered my mouth with my palm. Tears quickly gathered in my eyes and rolled freely down my cheek. Ethan and the witch were behind all these tribulations all along. I thought. I hoped they did not notice that I was eavesdropping on their conversation. I paced around my room in circles as I found it difficult to believe that Ethan was actually the bad guy.
